These positions may be filled by anyone wishing to help.
Other positions require special training or the sign-up is for an outside group so we can track their volunteer hours and create a volunteer entrance list.
Volunteers who work 2 hours receive entrance and free parking (see restrictions below).  Volunteers who work 4 hours on a day also receive $16 of bar/activity tickets which may be used for food.
Volunteers are asked to arrive at least one hour prior to their designated volunteer time to allow for parking or shuttle, volunteer check-in and finding the location of your volunteering.

Any further questions please email us HERE.

VOLUNTEER PARKING — Please Note: Different from Past Years.
Volunteers may park at the AGSEM in the volunteer parking if they arrive before 9:30am.  This parking is past the entrance gate and is considerably closer than all other parking.  Volunteers who arrive after 9:30am should proceed to Vista High and take the shuttle to the event.  The volunteer parking pass is only good for those two options: at AGSEM before 9:30am or at Vista High after 9:30am.  Volunteers who wish to park at the AGSEM after 9:30 must pay the $10 parking fee for premium parking — no exceptions.

Volunteers whose shifts begin in the morning are strongly encouraged to arrive around 9:00am to take advantage of the volunteer parking at the AGSEM and to avoid the huge traffic jams in the morning.

Volunteer Parking passes will be emailed to the volunteers through this signup app one week before the event.

Bar Support

Bar support volunteers help brewers and meade vendors by getting cups and ice for them.  They also clear trash from the bar area since our Boy Scouts cannot go behind the bar to collect trash.  Bar support volunteers DO NOT serve guests as the professionals from each brewery must serve our guests.

Sports & Competition Help

The sports field is home to Viking Fighting, the Stone Lifting competition and many other outdoor events. Volunteers help the fighters and contestants along with watching to see that the crowd does not enter the arena during a fight or contest.  Between events, they clear the trash and prepare the viewing area for the next audience. The largest need is for people who are able to lift at least 50 lb. And preferably 100lb.

Entertainment & Food Tents Support

Volunteers help the entertainers as requested. Between acts, they collect and dispose of trash and straighten the chairs in the entertainment tent. Straighten up the food tent, wipe down tables or if needed, replace table cloths, dispose of trash, etc.

MS Photo Booth

Guests take their picture in the little half-boat Viking ship in return for a donation to the MS Society.  Volunteers help guests with props (blunt edge axes & swords, etc.) to get ready for the picture, then take a photo with the guest’s phone/camera and retrieve the props.  Other volunteers keep the line semi-organized and remind people that they can donate cash or bar/activity tickets to help support the MS Society.
