Community Group Volunteer Application
Vista Viking Festival (VVF) would not be possible without the dedicated volunteers from Norway Hall and our associated Community (Non-Profit) Groups. In return for giving us volunteer hours at the Vista Viking Festival, we will make a donation back to the community group. Several of
the groups have replaced multiple fundraisers with one weekend at Vista Viking Festival. The amount of donation we give back to your group depends upon the number of volunteers and hours your group can donate.
Previously each area of Vista Viking Festival would coordinate their own outside groups. We now ask that all groups who wish to be involved fill out an application. Those returning from previous years must also fill out an application since Contact Information can change from year to year.
Stay Tuned for Updates for 2026
If accepted, VVF and the community group will work together to determine:
- proposed placement of volunteers (subject to change during the event)
- proposed number of volunteers
- total number of hours volunteered.
- minimum donation from VVF to the organization (if the organization provides more volunteer hours this amount can increase but there should be an agreed upon minimum donation)
At regular intervals before the event, our volunteer coordinator will contact the community group’s designated person to make certain we are still on track with the proposed number of volunteers and hours. After VVF, we will send a form to the contact person for a detailed report of how things went and for a more accurate accounting of the number of hours volunteered.
Please Note: Donations will be sent to the non-profits on or before Oct 31,2025. Any organization not receiving their donation by this date should contact us at: [email protected]
Youth Volunteers
Community Groups with Youth members may have them volunteer as well as the adults. Organizations with Youth Volunteers must follow their own safety guidelines but the following is considered a minimum set of requirements for Youth Volunteering —
- Organization must have permission slips from parents or guardians unless the parent or guardian is present at the event.
- Youth shall use a "buddy system" of remaining in groups of 2 or larger at all times.
- Youth volunteers shall wear a volunteer wristband at all times — even after their shift so they can be identified as youth volunteers.
- After the event is over, an adult from the organization must remain with the youth until all youth have been picked up by parents or guardians.
- If your organization has other guidelines beyond this simple set, they need to be enforced by the adult leaders during the event.
