The Norwegian Fish Club Odin Walk MS Team Wins Awards from the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
From a letter to the Daughters of Norway. From Team captain Judy Lucas.
On July 20, 2017, the National MS Society held a luncheon to honor the top teams from San Diego County. Paula Montagna, James Nelson-Lucas along with team captain Judy Lucas were invited to accept the awards for the Norwegian Fish Club Odin Walk MS Team. The NFCO Walk MS Team was presented with an award for fund raising and for Best Team Spirit. Everyone loves the vikings with their colorful garb, painted wooden shields, horns, and head wreaths. Our enthusiasm is contagious! We do stand out in the crowd of thousands of other walkers
Our Daughters of Norway sisters of Hulda Garborg Lodge # 49 and Turid Jesperson Lodge # 44 have supported the National MS Society and participated in the Walk MS for the last decade. Our sisters were on hand at the MS walk in April manning the team tent, selling opportunity tickets for our two fabulous opportunity baskets, greeting the public, and walking with Odin and the Vikings. Our sisters gave so generously of their time and resources. Together we raised over $4,385.
The Norwegian Fish Club Odin Walk MS Team is comprised of members of the following groups and their friends and families: the Norwegian Fish Club Odin; Daughters of Norway; the Sons of Norway, Norge Lodge 6-60; the Wolves Ov Odin; Raiders From the North; Drafn; and more.
The NMSS has a high rating and puts your hard earned donations to very good use. Part of the donations go to fund research and part to provide services for those with multiple sclerosis and their families.
MS has touched the lives of many of our sisters. For me the fight against MS is close to my heart and truly hits home. I personally thank you, dear sisters, for your generous hearts and your positive impact on our global community. You lift me up in so many ways. Each one of you has brought us closer to a cure for MS.
Tusen takk from the bottom of my heart, sisters!
