At this camp, our Vikings prepare meals in the open kitchen.
Krumkake is a delicate Norwegian waffle cookie that is loved across generations. They are traditionally served at holidays when krumkake is king! We will not make you wait, as the ladieds of the Daughters of Norway serve them still warm, rolled in a cone, and filled with whipped cream and lingonberry jam.
Vikings were great lovers of games of all kinds, and we have many at the Vista Viking Festival. Here a couple of Norse Lads play the ancient Jomswikinger or or roughly translated, "Blind Viking Chest Touch Smash Game”. The players are blindfolded, the first player asks his opponent if he would like to feel his slap. The object is to keep you hand on the chest. The first says vil du ha et slag? The opponent answers”, and he tries to hit him with the straw filled bag. This goes on back an forth, until someones hand leaves the chest.

Walk MS - Carlsbad, CA
For more than a decade, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Pacific South Coast Chapter Each Spring, we participate in Walk MS, and we make quite an impression. We have raised quite a bit of money and awareness for the cause over the years. It is a charity that hits home, as being of Scandinavian descent is the #1 risk factor in being diagnosed with MS. Multiple Sclerosis is a degenerative neurological disease, that corrodes the insulation of the brains wiring. Causing a wide variety of sometimes fully debilitating symptoms.
